If you sew children's products for sale in the United States, you should be aware that there is legislation affecting these products: the Consumer Protection Safety Improvement Act, known as CPSIA.
New small batch rules: If your annual revenue is less than $1 million and you manufacture in batches of less than 7,500 units, you do not need to have third party testing for category B items which include wearing apparel. You do need to issue a "certificate of conformity" to any retailers you may have, which can be based on "first party testing" - in other words, the information listed below.
Please be aware, this is merely our reading of the law! Please do not reply on Diaper Sewing Supplies for your legal advice.
If you are looking for certifications that our sewing supplies are lead-free, we can provide the following documents:
Bamboo Fiber Oeko-Tex Standard 100 (applies to all our bamboo fabrics)
Note that Oeko-Tex Standard 100 testing is a stricter testing regime than the simple lead content testing required by US law. However, the CPSIA does not recogize Oeko-Tex Standard 100 as a test in lieu of lead testing.
