Bamboo fleece is an excellent fabric for cloth diapers and soakers. Quick to grab moisture and holds a lot. Shrinks about 10% when washed, and this felting up helps give it good absorbency. Sew smooth sides out, 2 layers thick, for the best absorbing, quick-to-dry soaker pads or diaper inserts. Also wonderful for blankets and snuggly-soft clothing. Takes dye beautifully. Creamy natural color.
Oeko-tex Standard 100. This is the highest Oeko-Tek international standard, meant for infant items that touch the skin, and certifies that the fibers used in this fabric are free of all known harmful substances.
Machine wash and dry, or hang to dry.
Use a universal or ball point needle. There is slight stretch, so a walking foot is helpful. Fluffs up with washing, so easier to sew unwashed - just be sure to account for shrinkage.

This was used with hemp material to make soakers for prefolds. It is very soft and so absorbent compared to our cotton prefolds that were purchased.

I used this fabric along with the organic cotton french terry for the internal soaker in an all in one newborn diaper. I used two layers of each - with this one sandwiched between the other two layers. I serged all the edges and then joined my layers at the top and bottom so that it is similar to a petal insert for faster drying. My step-daughter reports that this diaper worked beautifully for our heavy wetter grandson. She was able to keep him in the diaper for three hours before changing - I think that says a lot for the absorbency of these fabrics together.

This fabric is super easy to sew with, super absorbent, and if there is any fault with it, it's that it takes longer to dry. A word to the wise: the more times it is washed, the more absorbent it becomes....so multiple washings prior to use is the way to go!

I made little doublers to extend the life of my muslin flats. Very absorbant, I will make more.

I am using this fleece as a diaper insert (4 layers). It has worked well so far - no leaks. I used 4 layers, which gave a trim pocket diaper and fit nicely through my sewing machine. Allow for some shrinkage.
