Hemp Fleece Fabric Quantity = number of yards.
Hemp fleece is slightly stretchy and extremely absorbent. Knit in a light creamy natural color. Use for diapers, fitteds, prefolds, aios, soakers, and clothing. Hemp fleece is excellent for diapers and soakers.
55% Hemp 45% Certified Organic Cotton. Imported. GOTS certified organic.
Width 56 inches. Comes as a 28 inch wide "tube" of fabric with both sides connected. Cut open along one side if needed as one flat width.
Weight 340g/m2 | 16 oz per linear yard
Care Machine wash warm, tumble dry.
Sewing Can be used fleecy side out, although it will produce a good bit of dryer lint. Inserts and boosters are typically sewn smooth sides out.
In our testing, shrinkage by length is 12%. One yard will shrink to 31.75 inches. Prewash, or alter your pattern to compensate. If you are doing a simple shape, like a soaker, multiply the pattern length by 1.12 and you will have the length you need to cut and sew without prewashing the fabric. Your customer will wash the finished item and it will shrink to the correct final size.

I make three layer contour doublers with this hemp fleece and my customers are using them to boost their overnight diapers and stuff their pockets with great success. They love them and want more. I prefer to prewash and preshrink this fabric and it does make a lot of dryer lint but I knew that before I started using it. It hasn't been a problem for me at all. I prefer to sew with this over bamboo fleece for doublers, and most of my customers prefer this hemp over bamboo fleece too.

I bought 3 yards of fabric and it is full of holes, I am disappointed because it is very expensive fabric and I am from Europe and it is not easy to send it back
>>>DSS Note: Please contact us! We don't know who this is, but we would not knowingly send out fabric with holes.

This fabric feels very substantial. It washed-up really nice. Overlocked the edges of rectangular shapes for soakers, very easy fabric to work with.
Granddaughter hasn't used them yet, but they look and feel like they should hold a lot of liquid!

I haven't tried it in a diaper since the baby is not born yet. I made inserts combining it with heavy bamboo fleece. It's not as soft as the bamboo. I can't really tell in terms of absorbency either. The fabric is as described and is really easy to cut and sew.

I LOVE this fabric! All I need is one layer in between the microfiber layers and it soaks up everything!

I used this with bamboo to make soakers for prefolds and they came out wonderful. Very absorbent and soft.

Just started sewing diaper inserts with this. It's so soft and it is apparent from the 'hand' of the fabric that it will be wonderfully absorpant.

This fabric is super soft, absorbent and trim.
The only problem I had was that it was so fuzzy that it lost so much fuzz the first time I put it in the dryer that I had to stop the dryer mid-cycle and empty the lint collector.
>>DSS: We recommend sewing inserts without prewashing, smooth sides out. Any natural fleece will shed into your lint collector if prewashed.
