Hemp Fleece Fabric
Hemp Fleece Fabric Quantity = number of yards.
Hemp fleece is slightly stretchy and extremely absorbent. Knit in a light creamy natural color. Use for diapers, fitteds, prefolds, aios, soakers, and clothing. Hemp fleece is excellent for diapers and soakers.
55% Hemp 45% Certified Organic Cotton. Imported. GOTS certified organic.
Width 56 inches. Comes as a 28 inch wide "tube" of fabric with both sides connected. Cut open along one side if needed as one flat width.
Weight 330g/m2 | 15.5 oz per linear yard
Care Machine wash warm, tumble dry.
Sewing Inserts and boosters are typically sewn smooth sides out. Can be used fleecy side out, although it will produce a good bit of dryer lint.
In our testing, initial shrinkage by length is about 12%. Prewash the fabric before cutting out you pattern.
Pro Tip: If you are doing a simple shape, like a soaker or insert, you can alter your pattern to compensate for the shrinkage and sew the fabric unwashed. Just multiply the pattern length by 1.15 and you will have the length you need to cut and sew without prewashing the fabric; when you wash the finished insert it will shrink to the correct final size. Make sure you have the fabric laid out on the straight grain before cutting, so that the finished insert does not twist. (If you are not sure if the fabric is straight, prewash before cutting.)

This material is very absorbent and was used to make night time inserts for diapers. The fabric did shrink significantly during the prepping process, so maybe order more than you think you'll need!
Super soft and good for you

I bought a yard of this to make my daughter some inserts for her diapers. I was able to make 8, 3 layer, inserts and I love them! They are very absorbent. I also made my inserts where one end was open so at night I can slip a microfiber insert in between the hemp and it holds my daughter over all night. I will definitely be purchasing some more.
Charmin, we got ya beat!

I love the absorbency of the hemp fleece. I had only bought the French terry previously, but after trying this one, I will likely purchase it more often. I made 3-layer inserts and they hold a lot of liquid.

I bought this fabric to make nursing pads and it is just so soft! The material is wonderful!
sew smooth side out

I've been trying different fabrics for my diaper inserts and this is one of them. Fleece of any kind should generally not be put against skin that is wet. It has a tendency to pull moisture and cause excessive skin dryness. This fabric is fabulously absorbent, and if it's sewn fleece side in, with the smooth sides facing out it doesn't fray, pill or overdry skin. It's also very comfortable. My daughter is very verbal with me about how she likes her diapers to feel, and she has not complained about these inserts at all. I would recommend this fabric, and would buy it again.
wonderful weight and feel

I bought this fabric for a hoodie and it sews and feels wonderful. My order shipped quickly and the price was reasonable. I was a little disappointed with the color-looks a little "spotty" or "dirty" in places(I did pre-wash), but I sewed it with the wrong side facing out and it looks great. Now my daughter and bestie both want one.
Very absorbant, but too many splinters

I really like the absorbency of this fabric, but I would only use it inside a soaker or on the bottom of a soaker and never touching the skin. I spent a long time picking tiny splintery wooden peices out of a soaker I made for a friend. I've never seen with hemp before so I don't know if this is common or not with hemp. It feels very durable though, if a bit tough.
