Product Description

Bubblegum Microfleece Fabric  Quantity = number of yards.

100% polyester. Imported. 60/62" wide. 180 gsm | 10 oz. per linear yard

Microfleece fabric is soft and cozy against the skin, while wicking moisture away to give skin a stay-dry feeling. Made especially for cloth diapers, and wears well with lots of washing.

  • not too thin, not too thick - just right for the inside of cloth diapers
  • the back is smooth, so if used for pocket diapers the inserts slide in and out easily
  • evenly napped, anti-pill
  • a bit of stretch for a super comfortable diaper
  • solid waste removes easily
  • non-staining

Our fleece is thinner than fleece sold in big box sewing stores which is too thick for cloth diaper sewing and not meant for wicking. This is the fleece you need for your stay dry layer on soakers, diaper linings, and the inside layer of pocket diapers. Also perferred by women for topping mama pads / menstrual cloth.

Care
Machine wash warm, tumble dry.

Sewing
Do not prewash, does not shrink; Use regular or universal needle; Sew diapers with polyester thread to prevent wicking; A walking foot or differential feed helps manage stretch. If you don't have a walking foot, try one of these tips: glue the seams/edges with dots of washout fabric glue and let dry before sewing; use lots of pins; OR hold seam with lots of little binder clips.

Which side goes toward the baby's skin?
Sew your diaper so that the fuzzy side is against the baby.

How do I test the wicking?
Unwashed fleece may not wick properly. Fleece can be sewn unwashed but wash the diaper before using. The main thing is that the wicking action doesn't happen by just sprinkling water on - it needs compression to work. Microfleece needs to be pressed against the skin to wick. If you need to do a test, put something absorbent under the microfleece, put the water on the fleece, and then press on the fleece.
