Seam Sealing Tape for Waterproof PUL Fabric
Sample: 8 inches
Width: 3/4 inch | 20 mm
This tape is especially made to seal sewn seams on waterproof, breathable PUL. Works with all Eco-PUL™ solids and prints.
Seam sealing tape is applied to the laminate side of PUL fabric. Our seam sealing tape is meant for two-layer PUL (one layer polyester knit bonded to one layer polyurethane) where it can be bonded to the laminate side. It is not meant for use with three-layer PUL (sandwich PUL) where the laminate is hidden between two layers of fabric.
Use with any project where you want to prevent liquid from seeping through a seam where two pieces of PUL are sewn together. For example, use to seal seams on wet bags, pieced diapers, and raincoats.
This tape can be applied to PUL laminate using an ordinary home iron. The tape melts at a lower temperature than Eco-PUL laminate, which means you can iron it in place without damaging the PUL lamination. After bonding, the tape is waterproof and breathable.
Use and Care: Seam sealing tape should be applied using a household iron or mini craft iron on a medium heat, the silk/polyester/wool setting, which is approximately 300-320 degrees F. We recommend experimenting with a small scrap of PUL and seam sealing tape before beginning your project to see which setting works best with your iron, as many irons do not have exact temperature settings. The tape should bond to the laminate without melting the PUL. If the tape peels off, the temperature is too cool. If the PUL melts, the temperature is too hot. After experimenting, test wash and dry. **Please note that drying on high heat could cause the seam sealing tape to melt and fall off.
Made in Japan. CPSIA compliant. Does not contain hazardous substances. Contains no heavy metals, no pentachorophenyl, no halogenated hydrocarbons. No toxic substances are produced during heat sealing.

I am in the process of sewing my first PUL diaper cover and I wanted to use a cute cotton print on the outside of plain white PUL. I was really concerned about wicking through the stitches so I ordered some of the seam sealing tape. It was so easy to apply! While I haven't actually put the cover to use yet, the tape seems to be bonded really well so I am confident that it will work wonderfully.
