White Microfleece Fabric
Baby Soft ™ White Microfleece Fabric Quantity = number of yards.
May have discolorations or dirt spots due to the nature of white fabric.
100% polyester. Imported. 60/62" wide. 180 gsm | 10 oz. per linear yard
This microfleece is a first quality fabric. It is difficult to import white fabric and some yards may have dirt marks which should wash out. If you are not able to pre-wash this fabric, consider getting a bit extra for your project in order to work around any marks.
Microfleece fabric is soft and cozy against the skin, while wicking moisture away to give skin a stay-dry feeling. Made especially for cloth diapers, and wears well with lots of washing.
- not too thin, not too thick - just right for the inside of cloth diapers
- the back is smooth, so if used for pocket diapers the inserts slide in and out easily
- evenly napped, anti-pill
- a bit of stretch for a super comfortable diaper
- solid waste removes easily
Our fleece is thinner than fleece sold in big box sewing stores which is too thick for cloth diaper sewing and not meant for wicking. This is the fleece you need for your stay dry layer on soakers, diaper linings, and the inside layer of pocket diapers. Also perferred by women for topping mama pads / menstrual cloth.
Machine wash warm, tumble dry.
Do not prewash, does not shrink; Use regular or universal needle; Sew diapers with polyester thread to prevent wicking; A walking foot or differential feed helps manage stretch. If you don't have a walking foot, try one of these tips: glue the seams/edges with dots of washout fabric glue and let dry before sewing; use lots of pins; OR hold seam with lots of little binder clips.
Which side goes toward the baby's skin?
Sew your diaper so that the fuzzy side is against the baby.
How do I test the wicking?
Unwashed fleece may not wick properly. Fleece can be sewn unwashed but wash the diaper before using. The main thing is that the wicking action doesn't happen by just sprinkling water on - it needs compression to work. Microfleece needs to be pressed against the skin to wick. If you need to do a test, put something absorbent under the microfleece, put the water on the fleece, and then press on the fleece.

I am very impressed with this microfleece. I have previously used microfleece from JoAnne's as well as from Nature's Fabrics for my cloth diapers and I have to say that the stuff from DSS is definitely the best. I really like the slippery feeling backing put on the microfleece. This will help with inserting inserts into my diaper pockets.
Use it for everything!

I love this microfleece! I use it exclusively in all my diapers, either as insert toppers, liners, or both, and as a stay dry liner in my nursing pads. My customers love it as well. It is great for sensitive skin as the fuzzy side isn't napped as much as the brands you find at other retailers, so the potential for rashes is slim. It also doesn't stain and washes incredibly well with minimal spraying for solids. I recommend this fleece to anyone who asks me what to use for making their own diapers. Love DSS and I am a customer for life!
Would never tell is a second

Great for pocket diapers

This white microfleece is the best for pocket diapers. It keeps my son's skin dry. We have been using them for about 5 months now. They have held up very well, and wash up very well (even with heavily soiled diaper) and does not stain as stated (I use Country Save detergent). Love this fabric! and keep coming back for more.
Love this stuff!

I love the microfleece from DSS. It looks nice for a long time and after a million washes and it stays soft. Easy to work with too. I never use anything else on the inside of my pockets.

This remained soft through washing and drying on high. It did shrink just as the product info says. Hard to believe it is cotton, it looks so much like the regular "store" fleece, but wow, is it absorbent!

love this product. Soft and after a few washes the wicking is wonderful.
Very soft material

This was my first purchase of material for cloth diapers and I am amazed of how soft it is. It was easy to work with. The trial pocket shell had the inner layer made out of this material and worked fantastic during 11 hr sleep. Our toddler did not have any moist spot on his skin.
easy to sew

Holds up well

I am very pleased with this fabric. I used it to line pocket diapers. It was easy to sew. It doesn't fray. I've been using the diapers for 6 months now and this fabric has held up well. It felt a little stiff when I first bought it but it has softened up. It wicks moisture away from the skin. The insert will be soaked and it still feels dry.
